After Superman destroys some remote-controlled tanks rampaging through Metropolis, the Legionnaires arrive, telling him about C.O.M.P.U.T.O., presumably the cause of the tanks, and recruiting him to help them. C.O.M.P.U.T.O. attempts to delay the heroes by affecting jet planes at an air show, but the heroes save the planes. Brainiac 5 deduces that the tanks were actually controlled by Lex Luthor, taking advantage of C.O.M.P.U.T.O.’s reign of terror, but when Superman and the Legionnaires confront him, C.O.M.P.U.T.O. destroys Brainiac 5’s proof.

This is a fun piece if only because it has a few of those very iconic characters - you’ve got Lex Luthor figuring prominently on the page but you’ve also got The Legion as well as a ‘blue’ Man of Steel.

Superman’s blue period didn’t last that long (thankfully). But here we have a good page drawn by a favorite of mine in Stuart Immonen.
